Social impact
At DTP, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the communities where we operate. Beyond delivering projects; we strive to improve the lives of local communities and groups through various initiatives.
Our commitment extends beyond mining projects to fostering strong, positive relationships with the communities we serve. We recognise our role as a global mining contractor and are dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), prioritising the well-being of both our employees and local communities.

Community Development and Economic Support
We are dedicated to creating opportunities and supporting local economies. Our initiatives include donating to schools and universities to enhance education and establishing healthcare centers to improve community health.
By prioritising local hiring and offering fair wages that are above standards, we stimulate economic growth and provide meaningful employment. With up to 97% of our project workforce comprising of local residents, we deeply invest in the communities where we operate.

Extensive Training and Employment Opportunities
We provide extensive training programs to develop skilled operators, mechanics, and managers, nurturing and empowering local talent. By focusing on individuals’ potential to learn and grow, even without prior mining knowledge, we create opportunities for all. Our programs identify and support talent at each step towards management positions, helping employees achieve their full potential and contributing to the long-term success of our company and the communities we serve.
Environmental and Community Collaboration
Sustainability is at the heart of our operations. We adhere to stringent environmental regulations and invest in sustainable technologies to minimise our ecological footprint. We engage in open dialogue with community leaders to understand their needs, ensuring our initiatives are relevant and effective.

A lasting positive impact.
We build more than mines; we build communities, support local economies, and create opportunities for growth and development. By prioritising CSR and good community collaboration, DTP is committed to making a positive difference and fostering an environment where both our employees and local communities can thrive.
Our work with various local Kibali Schools underlines DTP’s commitment to community development. This initiative is about more than education; it’s about building a brighter future for local talent. By partnering with the local technical school, we identify and recruit young talents, offering six months of classroom and field training. This hands-on approach equips them with vital skills and knowledge, opening doors to career opportunities within DTP and beyond.
Each year, we train groups of 12, including community members and technical school students. This initiative not only promotes social participation but also empowers the community’s youth to pursue a career in construction. Together, we’re educating and growing future industry leaders.

Under the expert care of our gardener, Edouard Godi Boboto, and with guidance from Simon Kimbangu and Sebastien Lambert, the team have been growing a variety of fresh produce for our canteen including lettuce, radishes, basil, and parsley. Thanks to this initiative, the team can enjoy project grown vegetables and herbs every day, greatly enhancing the quality and balance of our meals.
We care deeply about the health and wellbeing of our project personnel, and this garden is a step towards ensuring everyone has access to fresh, organic produce. Additionally, we are excited about the potential to expand this project and provide fresh vegetables and herbs to local schools, further supporting the community’s health and nutrition.
